Sparkling Tennis Bracelet!!

Gleaming Gems & Double Rope Design!!

Fine, Delicate Bracelet!

Dress Up Any Outfit

Overall Dimensions: 7 1/2" L X 1/4" W

Solid Quality

Large 1” Clasp Detail!

This bracelet contains a row of 42 sparkling gems! These gems are likely either cubic zirconia or rhinestones. There is a double row of rope chains, one chain on each side of the gems. These appear to be gold filled chains, while the clasp and backing of the gems appear to be either gold filled or gold plated.

If you were producing a movie, set in the 1980s, and wanted the main actress to dress for this era, what type of bracelet would you place on her wrist? Most likely this one. The tennis bracelet is an iconic jewelry piece of the 1980s era. This bracelet is likely from the 1980s around the time that the tennis bracelet became an essential fashion element (more about this below).

The shiny gems are balanced with a large 1” foldover clasp that adds a striking detail to the bracelet while providing extra security for the bracelet on your wrist. The large size of the clasp also makes it easy to see and handle for attaching or removal of the bracelet. Have ever had the experience of using one hand to try and attach a bracelet to the wrist of another hand, while attempting to hold open a small spring clasp and insert into a tiny hole on the bracelet? This bracelet avoids these athletics by a simple insertion of the clasp and a quick snap-in-place to secure. This clasp holds tightly during activities, but removes just as easily by lifting the end of the clasp. No Assistant Needed!

The gems on this piece exude a delicate elegance, is absolutely essential to bring out the exquisite detail, and is a major design element. A regular jewelry cleaner might alter this detail. This bracelet should only be cleaned with gentle cleaners that do not damage the gemstones, as this would alter the appearance.

Delicate Classic Elegance!

Origin of the Tennis Bracelet
From LiveStrong article, "Why Are Tennis Bracelets Called Tennis Bracelets?":

Tennis bracelets are 20th century inventions that use small diamonds to create a single bracelet. They weren't called "tennis" bracelets until after a tennis star's jewelry malfunction. The attractive bracelets, sometimes also known as eternity or inline bracelets, can cost hundreds to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on the style, size, and stone.

History
In the 1987 U.S. Open, tennis star Chris Evert was playing a vigorous match. In the middle of the game, she asked the officials to stop the game because her diamond bracelet had come unclasped and fallen on the court. She asked for time to search for and retrieve her bracelet. Since that time, the bracelet has been referred to as a "tennis bracelet."

The form of a tennis or an eternity bracelet makes it ideal for sporty women whose active lifestyle doesn't lend itself to the wearing of bangles or heavy jewelry. The bracelet is lightweight and flexible, making it less likely to get banged or dinged when playing a sport such as tennis.
